Today, I was out for most of the day, so I only worked on attaching the final panels of the 2.5-sun boxes in the evening. As shown in the photos, the Aruki panels of the 2.5-sun boxes consist of one solid piece for one side and a “Kannuki” panel divided into three sections for the other. For puzzle boxes with this type of structure, it is possible to attach these two panels simultaneously. This typically requires two days, but I was able to complete the process in just one day this time.
With this, all the panels for the 2.5-sun 5-step puzzle boxes have been attached, allowing me to move on to the base coating process tomorrow. Conveniently, I have already finished the base coating for the 4-sun 27-step puzzle boxes I was working on at the same time. Tomorrow, I plan to apply the base coat to the 2.5-sun boxes and the final coat to the 27-step boxes simultaneously.

I have been making these 2.5-sun boxes for over 25 years, much like the Mame puzzle boxes. The second photo shows a 14-step Mame puzzle box I recently made, placed alongside the 2.5-sun 5-step box from this batch. The Mame puzzle box can be stored inside the 2.5-sun box, and these are usually sold as nested puzzle boxes.
However, as my production pace has slowed recently, it has become less common to have both available for sale together as a nested set. I apologize for this. Many of the 14-step Mame puzzle boxes have already been sold, and stock is running low, so it is uncertain whether they will be available together this time. I hope to better synchronize their production and availability in the future.
